whitespecks on aluminum

I have never had a metal boat before , so when I am looking at the hull I notice a kinda white powdery look on the hull what is it and does it scrub off or what?<br /><br /><br />thnx<br />mark

It is a type of oxidation.You can use a fine scotchbrite pad to remove.a coat of wax or "woodys wax" will protect it .Charlie

Sure you can wax aluminum!! Woddy wax is more like an oil based coating.If I remember correctly,it is especially for aluminum.Charlie
