I have an 86 Johnson 65hp. Sit's in my garage, don't know what's wrong with it and I just wanna get rid of it. Don't have time to place ads to sell as I am deploying to Afghanistan shortly. looking for a place that might buy it off of me for a few bucks. I was thinking junk yard? or do boat dealerships buy old used motors? And if junk yards do take them any idea on what they pay?

Hey Ranger! Good luck in Afghanistan!

I checked NADA.com for you. Depending on what engine this is it could be worth $300 to $400 to a consumer. Some people say this is a really low figure if the engine actually is working well and has been maintained well.

I've never heard of anyone else other than a consumer paying decent money for an outboard like this.
