Got a 1991 225 pxeic. Did an overhaul on the boat tach was removed. It took a fall and when reinstalled the needle sits at 6000 rpm. Once the key is turned goes back to zero. Once the engine is turning it goes backwards instead of up the numbers from zero. Does anybady know if it is broken or did I wire it up wrong?

Sounds like you have the polarity of the wires backwards.<br /><br />You might be able to open the Tach up and make it sit back to zero when the motor is off.
