I have a 90Hp 4 Stroke Johnson (Suzi painted white) with 25 hours up, new in May. It runs in salt water. After my last trip out, which was very rough, 6-8 foot seas on very slow return trip, I noticed a lot of salt crystals on the powerhead. This indicates that water is getting in or a hose is leaking. Static engine test did not produce any hose leaks so my guess is water is coming in through the air inlet on the cowl. Cowl seal & locking clips were OK. It is back at the dealers in a few days for first oil change & service. Anyone else with a Johnno or Suzi notice this problem or give me a clue to another reason for this water entry.
No problems on previous trips with smoother water. I have never come across this on other motors-115 Johnno or 75 Mariner.
Regards,
Peter
