my boat has been sitting for about three years. We have recently cleaned the carbs out because it wouldn't stay running. The other day we took it out and it still wouldn't stay running. It started up relatively easy. The boat use to run about 35 miles per hour but when we gave it full throttle it wouldn't get up above 26 miles per hour. Then the engine would just die and the boat would coast to a stop.
What can i do to fix this problem.

After sitting that long you need to rebuild the carbs, pay close attention to the needle and seat.
The carbs need to soak over night or at least squirt some carb cleaner thru all the little holes and follow up with some compressed air.
Do a compression check first to see if all cylinders are within 10 percent of each other.
Replace all the rubber fuel lines and primmer bulb make sure there are no leaks at the connectors.
Check fuel pump and make sure it is working.
Fresh fuel mix and new plugs and impeller.
