I have a 77 115hp Evinrude that has been setting for approximately 3 years. I have went through the motor and did all the proper tuning up. I was wondering when I take it out for the first time should I keep the RPM's down for a few hours or if that is even matters.

I'd even use double oil in the gas for afew hours.
The other way is to just go beat the c**p out of it and see if it breaks.
DHP

Hi Dsinger,
I would spend the first 10 minutes just checking it out, listening for any odd rattles, noises, running it through various throttle settings, etc. Maybe pop the hood and see if there are any fuel or water leaks. If all sounds good, then drop the hammer! If something breaks, it was probably going to break anyway.
- Scott

If you didn't clean the carbs, I would at least add some carb cleaner to the fuel that is safe for that motor.
