150 hp optical pick-up / Powerpack question

Where is the color sleeve for the Optical Sensor and the Stator located?<br />Manual states that original equipment was Black “Sleeved” and they were Warranty Repaired to be a Blue “Sleeved” stator and optical sensor.<br />Changed in 1993? To Gray sleeved.<br /><br />The wiring harness from the Optical Pickup is covered with a BLUE mesh sleeve.<br />Is this the sleeve that they are talking about and if so then my engines were upgraded by the original owner? <br />I’m asking because I MAY need to replace the powerpack, I am told that the replacement powerpack comes as a kit with a new optical pickup (gray sleeved) and the new gray kit is compatible with a BLUE or GRAY stator but not with the original BLACK sleeved Stator.<br /><br />Engines are: 2- 1992 model year 150 HP Evinrude engines <br />Serial #’s PORT ENG: G03014951 STBD: G03076183<br />Engine Model: E150NXENC and E150EXEM<br /><br /><br />Thanks for your help,<br /><br />Mike
