New 04/ 90 hp 2 stroke Yamaha motor. I had it in for the 20 hr check up yesterday. I bought some ring free for the first time.( I am glad I have been reading this forum). According to the directions, for shock treat, use 2oz/Gal. For constant treat use 1oz /10 Gal. My question is , since I have not used it before, should I put more than 1 oz per 10 Gallons? 2 or 3 oz maybe. Or just follow directions, or Shock it to clean whatever carbon build up is in there , since I did not use Ring free for the first 20 hrs, and of course you can see the black marks around the prop exhaust. <br />Thank you .

At 20 hrs., you're just broke-in. In my opinion there shouldn't be much in the way of carbon build-up, but I wouldn't think 1oz/10gal, would hurt anything. I don't think you want to go any more than that, at this time, anyway.. :)

Thank you for your expert opinions. I guess I will go by the constant treat direction on the bottle. 1oz for every 10 Gallons.
