04 225 Evinrude Ficht

2003 225 ficht problems. Leaks oil from btm of Motor. Issue has been from day of purchase. 2nd Problem Is at 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, 4100rpm has skip. Plugs after 30 hours are fouled able to clean and gap after 50 hours nothing left of plugs. Have been in contact with Evinrude directly. Skipping problem and plugs they are saying it is due to mapping in computer. New computer on the way. Also telling me that hull design on my 26' Grady White boat. Motor has to be lowered due to not enough water getting to motor(never have heard of this). Oil leak think just about every hose has been checked or replaced. Best thing about motor is fuel Mileage avg. 2.9 to 3.8 depending on seas. Motor Currently has 878 hours on it. Good thing is better than 2001 ficht which was like clock work every 40 hours blew it up (In 1 year 3 power heads, 1 lower unit).

are the plugs being properly indexed? and with a new computer map it may quit eating them.carefully check all the oil fittings around the lift pump and the return lines.

what kind of oil are you feeding it?<br />try squeezing oil return hose and see if oil now leaks out of oil injector (older engines had this problem)there is a fix but you need to get o'ring from a dealer.also if moter is run then tilt alot oil may accumulate in air box and slowly leak out
