Re: What year is my motor PLEASE!!!

Welcome to Iboats, EMOFisherman!
Evinrude model 18302:
Year: 1963
HP: 18
WOT RPMS: 4500
Displacement: 22.0 cu.in. = 360.5 ccm
Cylinders: 2
Weight: 79 lbs. = 35.8 Kg
Lower unit gear ratio: 12:21
Lower unit gear oil: OMC/Bombardier HiVis or equivalent 90W outboard gearcase oil. Do not use 'Type C' or HiPerf.
Oil Mix Ratio: 24:1 87 octane gas to TCW-3 rated outboard oil. See Oil Mix FAQ for details.
Spark plugs: Champion J4C gapped at .030"
Picture
From the Old OMC Site

The 22.0 CID engines were good and popular engines. If it runs well, then $250 sounds like a good deal. With outboards over 10-15 years old, it's all about condition, not age. Many parts for your engine are still made and are by outboard standards inexpensive.
