My Lark III has been running hot after 5 min of running it wide open. I've checked the thermostat, which isn't there, and I'm getting a good gush of water with the t-stat cover off and the spring loaded ball(below where t-stat should be) is working fine to allow water in. I'm guessing that it should have a t-stat but without it the motor is getting constant water not just >140 degrees. So what else could be causing it to run hot? I've been mixing gas/oil 40:1, could not enough oil in the gas cause it to run hot?
