I'm rebuilding one of my two 150's. Both have been sittin' still for almost one year. As far as the "good" one (good compression) is concerned, what should be done to it? I'm currently rebuilding the carbs, changing the impeller and lower unit oil. Should I decarbonize?

I would. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Also you might want to get rid of the fuel. Pistons, especially new ones, dont like old fuel.

Good luck!

I've emptied and removed both fuel tanks (Boat Restoration - "Stringer Replacement") and installed new Racor water separators. Is there a way to remove old gas in the hoses on the motor?

I am getting ready to rebuild my carb also on my 91 V6 GT 150. how hard was it to tear them apart. did you take all 3 off at once or one at a time?
