I'm not sure what you mean. The float is inside the vapor separator tank and the tank is not made to come apart. It, along with the attached electric fuel pump is an assembly.<br /><br />A fuel supply problem will not activate a CHECK ENGINE lite on a FICHT outboard. If you have a CHECK ENGINE lite condition, you will need a laptop with diagnostic software or a PDA. If you had an intermittent problem, the computer erases it after a number of successful operations of the motor. This is the same as what the computer in your vehicle does.<br /><br />A model number would be nice so we all would know which motor to which you are referring.
