I am going to de-carb my 1997 Evinrude 225 Ocean Pro this weekend. I understand I am to change the spark plugs after this process. I want to ensure I am using the correct plugs. What kind should I be using for this motor?

Thanks everyone. I'm new to boating and this site has been such an incredible source of information.

One more question...On the Johnson/Evinrude Spark Plug Chart supplied by Angus63, it says on note 3 "On ALL VRO/OMS equipped motors the "QL" supressor plug is recommended". What is the QL supressor plug?

Re: Correct Spark Plugs

Q plugs are designed to prevent (supress) the charge from escaping the combustion chamber and interfere with the ignition system. Remember hearing static on the AM radio in your car? That's what it is supposed to prevent.
