Hi There,

I'm trying to find out what pitch propeller I can put on my 1972 Johnson Sea Horse.

The model number is : 20R72R
The Serial number is : C43468

I'm looking for that information because I feel that I lack a bit of power. I use this engine on a 14' fiberglass boat, the boat is very heavy.

I looked on the propeller I have on it (was there when I purchased the engine) & it says : 012011..

I'm not certain if the pitch is 12 or 11 on it..!!??

Any help will be greatly welcomed.

012011 is a Michigan wheel 9X10 3 blade....(10 pitch)
7, 8, and 9 pitch are available for it, as well as the 10.

012011 is a 9 X 10" Prop. The only other pitch that is lower than that, is a 9 X 9" or a 9 1/4 X 7" pitch for your motor. That is a small motor for your boat and I would think you will need the smallest pitch prop you can get to get you into the correct RPM range. Do you know what RPM's you are running now?

No problem, and welcome aboard.
In OMC, the pitches skip the 8" size, but is available in Michigan wheel.
I think Rick and I were typing at the same time, but his info is most always correct and straightens me out on occasion.

Hi Rick,

In fact, I don't know what RPM I'm running now. It's my first boat & engine & I'm quite new at this...!!

The boat feels great when I'm alone in it.. but as soon as I'm with someone else, I just can't get it to "rise"...!!
