Don't get carb cleaner on the O-ring gaskets. Be sure the floats and needlevalves move freely before you put the carbs back together. Its easy to get the little clip, that holds the needle to the float arm, in a bind when you install the floats.
I don't soak the the plastic carbs. Clean them with the straw nozzle and blow out with compressed air. Then get in good light and visualize that all passages, orifices and air jets are clean.
