hi,first post need to know plug gap for 98 v4 90hp evinrude.Saw a older post suggesting.30 and.40. find it confusing.what are you guys recommending it be set at.The local dealer says.42 I say thats nuts so my new plugs just sit there till im sure
OMC specified .040 in the old days, Ritchn.

Late 80s or thereabout they changed the spec for all engines, new and old, to .030.

Either will work. The .040 will take more idling without fouling, the .030 will keep a usable gap longer and is less likely to misfire.

Some guys gap at .035. I gap at .030.

Your choice.

Good luck.
