I have searched for the correct type of oil for the lower unit of Johnson '62, 40HP - electric shift. Some posts say type C.

I am wondering if there is a generic kind of oil that I can buy of a part store for this kind of enigne? if there is, what's the spec.?

OMC dealers are kind of hard to reach over here.

Thanks for your advice.

Nam

Nam....any gear lube that is designated for electric shifts will work. Bomby Premium Blend, the old "Type C", is one such lube. Just make sure the container says "for electric shifts". Wally World or some auto shops carry similar lubes.
