For someone to answer this they'll need the model and year.

Re: Johnson outboard 30hp

You can take this with a grain of salt... but when I was running a '63 Merc 45hp the motor was listed as 25:1. In 1985 I asked the Mercury factory what they recommended. "the improvements in dispersion in gas of Modern TWC-2 (back then) oils allows for 50:1 with no concern for damaging the engine. Your motor will benefit as it will run cleaner, with less plug fouling" I ran that motor on 50:1 with no trouble until 1990, when I moved on to a larger boat.

As I understand it, 25:1 was used to assure that you got enough oil if the gas/oil mix separated out some. The newer oils tend to mix better.

I wouldn't worry about running 50:1 with TWC-3 oils.

Re: Johnson outboard 30hp

25BACS is a 1980 25hp outboard, and the E indicates it's an Evinrude. Perhaps your cowling has been replaced - it is pretty common.
Fuel oil mix is 50:1 91 RON gas to TCW-3 rated outboard oil. This mix is correct for all Johnson/Evinrude engines built after 1963 except, naturally, the VRO models.

Good luck, and welcome to Iboats!
