Ignition problem

Just finished re-building my lower unit on my 1984, 65hp Evinrude. Hooked everything back, turned key and nothing. Placed a rope on it and pull started it. Ran fine :) so kill switch is O.K. Turned key off and engine shut off. Started 3 times with key, then same. No clicking, nothing :confused: .

Check out all the connections from the battery to the starter for corrosion and tightness.

Thanks. Tried that. Even put new ground terminal on battery cable. How do you check to see if your solenoid is working?
