Hi again.
I see now that i was´nt specific enough before..
I have a good powerhead from 1971, and want to mount it on a "leg" with trim and tilt from 1990.
Does the axel fit each other, or is this i'a bad idea.?
Kind regards Ivan Nielsen

Hi Ivan,
It won't work. The driveshaft splines are different for one, and two, the '1970 model was electric shift and the 1990 model is mechanical shift, meaning the 1970 model doesn't have the various linkages, etc. required to operate the 1990 model... Many other reasons, too, but those are the biggest ones..
- Scott
