Hi mybear
You may be better off useing the toggles or at least building a more soild and attractive version of what you have. The oem switches are hard to come by new and most of the used ones are shot or close to it. Your motor uses the hydro elect. Although there is a deal every day, and if you keep looking you my find a brand new control hanging in someones garage and they will give it to you, it happens, I wouldn't wait for it though.

You're looking for controls with a ROUND BLACK male plug, just like the female end in your motor. Red or Yellow plug controls won't work in your motor. They come in both single lever (Johnson) and lever/pushbutton (Evinrude) styles, but either will work.

I have to respectfully disagree with Alcan here - I haven't run across a bad set of OMC controls from that era yet. They're well-built; have to be to stand up to use near/in salt water.

Finding them is a different story. When I don't need them, I can find them for free. When I need a set in an emergency, they've run nearly $75.

Make sure they have that black ROUND plug. OMC previously used purely-electric lower units (yours is hydroelectric) and the control boxes are different.
