I have a 1976 Evinrude 135. Starts fine and idles fine but when I try to get going it stalls. I have to try a few times before I can get going without stalling. Any Ideas on what is causing this?

Do you have spark on all four cylinders? The spark should jump at leat a 1/2" gap.<br /><br />What is the compression/ It should be close to 100 psi on all four and within 5-10 psi of weach other.<br /><br />If those are good, it's time to clean and rebuild the carbs.
