Hi Folks, what a great info site!! I have a 80' 115hp E-Rude. Just replaced the power packs, coils, and fuel pump. Assembled the fuel pump myself (Could be the problem). With water ears, the motor ran fine. In the water under a load, it has absolutely no power, and dies as soon as you give it any throttle. It ran decent a few weeks ago, but always had a miss at idle (sort of sounded like the African Queen). Thats why I replaced the above mentioned parts last week. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks again.

Re: No Power

Welcome Gunner - With the ears there is no back pressure to the motor. Lets look at fuel issues first. Take it out again and bring along a spray bottle of fuel mix. With the engine cover off put it in gear and spray some of the mix into the carbs. If it picks up you have a fuel problem & I would start by checking all lines/connectors followed by rebuilding the carbs.

Re: No Power

I did a compression check yesterday. Blown head gasket on the right bank. That was most likely the problem.
