Have a 1980 (appox) Evinrude 6HP. When engine is running no water is comming out of **** hole, at the top or close to water line, only exhaust. Some times a very small about will come out, at high revolutions and is very very hot. Do I have a blockage and how to cleare it. How to a get to the water pump (if there is one) to inspect?

There is indeed a water pump and you will have to remove the lower unit to get to it. If you can find a Manual, I would try to get one to walk you through it.. Don't run it until you get this fixed...

Thanks. I do not have a manual and they are very had to come by here.

Are the symptoms definatly the water pump or a blockage somewhere? Or is it matter of trying both?

Is is a complecated process to get to the water pump if this is the problem or is there an easy way to explain in a short e-mail?

Simon, Rick has offered good advice. Don't run that motor until you replace the water pump. It's not practical to try and walk you through it via emails. A service manual will show you in detail on the proper procedure. It's not hard to do, simple tools and a bit of time to finish. If your lucky and no motor damage has already occurred, you should be good to go. If the arms of the old impeller break off and are pushed up into the powerhead, then you will have a bigger problem.
