I have a OMC auxiliary motor bracket on the back of my bayliner trophy that holds my 8hp honda. The main assist shock in the kicker bracket has leaked and no longer assists in lifting the 80 pound motor. It's quite a lift without that shock. The cost to replace the shock is 293.00 cdn. This seems a bit much to me. When i purchesed the bracket ten years ago I think it was arond 300.00 installed. Any suggestions ???

West marine and many mega yacht sailing shops can repair hydrolic cylanders. You can also try going to a heavy machinery shop. Sailboats use them for adjusting backstays and such. Most is custom order and will cost you 100.00
