Evinrude 6hp model E6R4EEMengine is sucking the oil out of the crank case and depositing it in the engine shroud. have not been able to correct.

Hi, Durand.Welcome to iboats. Do you mean the gearcase? There is no oil in the crankcase except what flows through as part of the fuel mix.Sounds like you have a fuel mix leak and the gas is evaporating off, leaving the oil.Tell us more about what you see and what you have done.

Durand,JB, is right. No crankcase oil to be blown out.However, a mixture of fuel and oil may be leaking or being sprayed in the cowl. There are several place to look. Can you tell us if it seems to be toward the front or back, which side, etc?

Durand,If the oily mess also seems to be under the flywheel and on the upper surfaces of the engine,your top crank seal is bad.DHP

Is this motor by any chance a 4-stroke? It's a 1999 model - just covering our bases....- Scott

yes the motor is a 4-strokeno oil in the fuel mix. after unit is ran several hours engine crank case is low. and oil is in shroud
