Does anyone have a schematic of the carb on this engine I am unsure as to how the packing is installed in the low speed idle mixture screw assembly. It had completly deteriorated away when I took the carb apart. A picture or explanation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks alot,

Sean

You're in luck! Click here.

The packing is just pushed in there and then compressed by the nut. To get the old stuff out, you'll have to dig it out. RJohnson, a member here, uses a 7/16"-20 bottoming tap with the first few threads ground off the end as a cutter to dig out the old packing. It seems to me like a good idea.
The problem you're going to run into is bits of the old packing going down the needle hole and getting trapped in the low speed circuit. You should really remove the plug above the low speed orifaces and clean it out with compressed air.

Good luck!
PS - I hate to ask, but you're working from a repair manual right?
