All,

I have a 3hp johnson outboard that was seized. I have managed to remove the old pistons and clean up the cylinders. Unfortunatley I haven't been able to locate new pistons or rings for the motor. The ID# on the side of the motor is JW-10. If anyone knows where I can locate these parts please let me know.

i dont believe they are made anymore... have you tried posting a want ad on the antique outboard website? www.aomci.org

if you are rebuilding this just for use as a motor, id say get a newer one..

now if you are keeping it due to its age and its an antique, thats different

Try the following places:
Parts for Outboards - got me some NOS ones for my older engine.
Twin City Outboards - never delt with them but plenty here have.
Mastertech
Worst comes to worst, custom made ones from Otto Works.

Good luck hunting!

EDIT - Mike, outboards can be pretty pricey up here (not sure about Ont.). My impression of Florida is that they grow on trees down there though. :)

EDIT 2 - Oh, I missed the part about you looking for pistons too. If yours are in decent shape, reuse them with new rings. Finding NOS pistons is going to be next to impossible, and you will likely have to settle for some good used ones.
