I have a 1977 115 Evinrude that will not shift to forward. It appears the cable might be broken. It shifts from neutral to reverse but not back to neutral. I can manually shift it from under the hood. Is it difficult to replace a cable?

Hardest part is to get the cable fron the control back to the engine.Every wire (it seems ) will be cable tied to it,them,and the steering cable togeather.Getting the control box out where you can work on it can also be tough.<br /> Move slow,step by step,and DON"Y rush it.<br />DHP
