Lower Unit Question

Hi guys, I need a new lower unit for my '74 Evinrude Starflite 85hp Model:85493B Serial No.:C73742, and I found a lower unit from a '75 Evinrude 70hp Model:70573E Serial No.: J0007793, do you think it could fit ?<br /><br />Last question, can I only put '74 lower unit on this motor, or other years can fit?<br /><br />Thanks

Hi Marty<br />No, the 75hp and 85hp L/Us are different. They use different drive shafts,water pumps and a host of other things. You could use a 1973-76 85hp l/u.
