hey,<br />I would like to know the spark plug type and gap sizes for these two motors and also the oil/gas ratio for these two motors. Thank you...

1969 Johnson 4hp- champion J4J gapped at .020<br />1973 Johnson 25hp- Champion J4C gapped at .030<br />both fuel ratios at 50:1<br /><br />please post model numbers of motors to ensure accurate info.

If it were my 4hp, I'd run it a tad richer, perhaps at 40:1, as it has bronze/aluminum connecting rods and I've seen a lot of them let go at 50:1 mixes, usually taking the block and crankshaft with it.<br /><br />The J4J plug is no longer available, so use the J4C for both motors...<br />- Scott
