my cd10 fired up once and ran about 30 seconds but did not immediatley respond to throttle. it has a pressure tank with the little primer button on tank, it shoots gas out when I release it. Also fuel bowl only fills 3/4 way up? now it won't start, I'm gonna rebuild carb but wondering about fuel tank related problems since this type tank is new to me. Any help?

If your getting a fuel leak around the primer button. Your engine is a 1954, 5.5. It could well need a tank rebuild along with the carb. On a engine this age you will also want to take a look at the ignition coil's, and the water pump. Also change the gear oil.

the ignition coils look ok. I've read on this sight that they will show visible signs of damage. iwas only getting a spark on one plug until i replaced condensers now both are firing. what is included in a tank rebulid? The float for the guage looks fine so does the filter screen. Thanks!!
