powerhead replacement difficulty factor

just want to know how hard it is to replace powerhead.im up on replacing automotive parts and small engine.but what about outboard motors?need some advive, literature ,photos,etc if anyone has any info or comments please let me know what i will be getting into if i do this myself!!thanks brian

What model engine, how old, saltwater or just fresh?

If you are half way handy and have the factory shop and parts manual specific for your motor it is do-able, fun & rewarding. I can't emphasize getting the factory manuals instead of the gereric enough though. And as a side bonus you can always post questions here.
