We finally got the lower unit off this motor by using wedges to pry it apart.<br />We removed the Powerhead from the leg and now I have a powerhead with a driveshaft sticking out of it.<br />We have tried Heat, PB BLaster, pounding, etc.<br />How can I get that driveshaft out of the bottom of the Crank itself????

Hi Bill,<br /> On the really stubborn ones I've had to put a TWO pairs of Vice-Grips on the shaft - somewhere where they won't mar up a bearing surface, and use a small sledge to pull the shaft straight out. Helps if you can make a sturdy jig to bolt the powerhead to.. Unfortunately, when they're that bad, it usually means the crankshaft splines are either gone or almost gone...<br />- Scott

That sounds good, I will try it, How about if I apply a lot of heat to the crank before I hit the vise grips with a hammer
