My 1989 60hp Evinrude starts on the first turn but after a while it will stall if at idle too long. Once it stalls it will take a bit to turn it over again. Also, she dribbles a tad of oil into the bilge once I trim her up after running. I'm not a mechanic so please speak to me like I'm in third grade if you have a suggestion other than see a mechanic, Appreciate you reading this, Thanks!
Christopher

Hi Chris
Hey, I'm very new to outboard motor repair and maintenance, but as you haven't had any other replies, I'll try to help.

The floats in your carbs may be out of adjustment, causing them to flood. This could make the engine cut out and be hard to start, and also, the oil that drips out when you tilt the engine is probably two stroke oil, (whats left when the petrol evapourates), that has built up in the air silencer box.

If I'm way off, I apologies, but at least it's taken your question back to the top so that one of the better qualified guys might be able to answer.

Good luck
Steve
