i have never seen one of thses pups in action, but does anybody here own one.. or does anybody here know anything about them...???

what is the good points..

what is the bad points...

is there any advantage or is it just smiple preference of not being able to slice up a fresh manatee or having rope tangle around it?

id realyy like to get a motor around 25-35 hp for a small skiff i have, and these sem really cool. i go out in mostly shallow rivers with lots of , as i put it, fresh manatees and lots of weeds that tangle my prop... would these work for rivers with prop tangling grass?

mikey...the name changer

I bought one last year and really like it. It has a ton of thrust and if the rpm's are kept up it seems to go through weeds better than my prop motors.I think the one in your picture is the one I bought as he only had one gray one at the time.

Re: omc pump jets

I think it looses some top end speed...but it gets there quicker. It is very smooth running and smokes like hell..I think it is set up very rich since it's made to come out of a submarine..pump water out..and start. I have a carb kit and thermostat that I have to do when I get off my lazy butt..don't know if it will make a difference but figure what the heck..won't hurt. Runs very cool so I am thinking thermostat will do more than carb rebuild for richness.
