Hey guys my bubby just got an old johnson, but he doesn't know the year.
model#jw-18r
serial#c392395 I think?
Any help would be appericiated. Thanks guys
Good link for your buddy.
My books show J6C for the plug. They could be wrong though. If you find it's fouling the J4Cs, try the hotter J6C.
Great engine, by the way.
Paul is correct. Not all books agree on the plugs.

For extended low speed operation, use the J6C. If plugs foul, open gap to .035 or even .040

For all-round operation, use the J4C. Same suggestion on the gap.
Yeah, I'm showing J6C also. I would try the cooler plug first as recommended and if it doesn't work out, go to the hotter plug as suggested... I would for sure gap them at .040.
