Johnson 9.9 (1996) no pee in reverse

Hi,<br /> Just used my motor and realized that when I go in reverse, I get very little water or none at all to come out of the water outake. Works fine in forward or neutral. Any ideas?<br /><br />Many thanks,<br /><br />Bob Lyons<br />Rochester, NY

Hi Bob,<br /> It's possible that your motor is eating its exhaust in reverse. Is the diffuser ring present on the prop? It's a plastic ring that goes around the trailing edge of the prop hub. I've found that if that's missing you get the symptom you're describing. <br /> Also, when was the last time your impeller was changed out? Every 2-3 seasons is a good schedule to be on...<br />- Scott
