I have an old 14ft runabout that I'm restoring that has a 1959 Johnson Super Sea Horse 35 motor. I'm interested in getting a new prop for it. I've read about how to pick the right prop, etc but I don't have a tach or even know what the engine rpms should run at. The boat is 14ft, fiberglass, fairly light except for the 15 gal gas tank up front when full. Anyway, could you guys tell me what is most likely the best for this boat? I'm trying to get the best speed from it I can. Thanks!!

Re: new prop

P/N 384460, 10-1/2X13 would be as close as I dare to guess with no tach.....

Re: new prop

I have a 14ft fiberglass whaler style boat and am running a 10 1/8" x 15 pitch prop on a newer 40hp. Good overall performance. Quick hole shot and top speed about 33MPH. My RPM's are unknown as well. New tach being installed this spring so I might be shopping for a prop as well.
