What would be a good ski boat for shallow water? We would be skiing in the Kings River where the water level sometimes gets low.

Re: ski boats for shallow water

Depends - how shallow is shallow?

Any competition inboard can draft in about 15" of water, and can easily ski through 48" of water - I wouldn't ski in less than 48". If you need anything less than that, I suggest buying a toy boat and running it in the bathtub.

Seriously though, two things you need to be VERY aware of: 1. Stumps and 2. sand bars.

I my opinion, there is NOTHING better than waterskiing on a river, but you should buy a detailed map so you know where the river channel runs and try to stay on it.

If you have a site in California like they do in Texas (Texas Parks and Wildlife), they can provide you with detailed river information, access points, facilities, maps, and whatever else you need.

Good look at shred city...
