evinrude terminology

New to evinrudes and have been browsing the boards. Question: What is a crossflow and what is a looper? I have an '89 90hp VRO inline four. What would this be classified as?<br /><br />Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. A picture truly is worth a thousand words. I have actually seen these diagrams before when reading about 2 stroke engines.<br /><br />However, I hope others will chime in w/ info regarding my motor. Actually, I think I have a second question. When someone says a "v4" are they refering to an inline vro or a v4 (2 banks of two at an angle)? <br /><br />DROLL, thanks again!<br /><br />Thanks

Built just like the letter V. V-twin, V-4, V-6, <br />V-8, V-10. Banks of 1,2,3,4,5.<br /><br /> :)
