1978 70 hp evinrude. I get 12vdc to terminal block and don't know where to check next. I can't find voltage after terminal block. Does 12vdc go from red wire OF terminal block to rectifier to stator to trigger to cdi to coils? All i know is there is 12cd to terminal block and no fire to coils on cdi. I need help in between.
thanks for any help!

On the '78 all you get from the battery is the power to drive your starter and starter solenoid and to activate the choke solenoid.

The rest of the power comes from the running motor.

You need a good, fully charged battery to start the motor.

I have a fully charged battery. I checked the rectifier and it is good. After i turn the motor over and the flywheel is spinning, where does the fire come from? The stator or trigger then to the cdi and what should the readings be with a volt/ohm meter?
