I have a 1973 Johnson triple, It was running fine last year, This year it was running fine when I went to slow down for a no wake she stalled and never started again. I pulled plugs and I'm getting fuel, just no spark. What should I ck first? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Spark

Remove the s/plugs. Disconnect the main RED electrical connector at the engine. Check for spark. If you now have spark, in all probability the ignition switch has shorted out. If still no spark, the usual cause is a failed powerpack.

Re: Spark

No, the key will do nothing. Crank the engine using a small jumper wire from the battery side of the starter solenoid to the small 3/8" hex nut containing the wire that energizes the solenoid (not the 3/8" ground nut).

Re: Spark

No. You will have to jump out the starter to get fire to it and choke it to kill it.

EDIT: Sorry Joe, didn't mean to jump on the thread...
