I'm rebuilding this engine. The fuel mix is 50:1, does anyone have the correct spark plug specification and gap?

Welcome to iboats.
Ideally, you want to be using Champion J6C spark plugs, gapped at .030" (.76mm).

PS - Although the manufacturer of your engine has always specified 50:1 for it, there's a knowlegable person here that suggest you should run that particulair engine a little richer at 40 or 32:1.

I hope this helps!

If it were my 3hp, I'd run it a little richer than 50:1. That moor has bronze babbit bearings on most of the moving and rotating journals in the powerhead and as such will work better and last longer with a slightly richer oil mix. 40:1 will give you a good safety margin... Oil is cheap - motor partsare not.
- Scott
