HELP! Trouble installing Throttle control cable on 1991 Evinrude 9.9 Yachttwin
I have a 1991 Evinrude 9.9 Yachttwin. Once the throttle control cable enters the front of the outboard, it has to go around other parts to connect to the throttle arm. Therefore, it forces the throttle cable to go in at an angle. As a result, when you use the throttle remote, the cable jumps out of the fitting where it enters the outboard. Is it the aftermarket cable or am I connecting it wrong? Thanks for any input.

ponycrony, I have the same motor and would also like to install a remote throttle. Did you get something to work for your motor? What did you use for a throttle control?Any info would be apreciated. Thanks

Pony....what kind of connector or holding device are you using to hold the throttle cable in place with? Are the cables you are using for throttle and shift, OMC/Bomby or generics? If it's generic, is there a knurled trunion on the cable where it goes through the front of the engine?
