a full engine rebuild is from the crank up. The reason being the pto cylinder spat the wristpin clip. the center cyl. was already 1st over. since the boat is used in our rental fleet i opted to make everything stock. (Sleeves, pistons milled the head and cylinder, everything.... Could the cases themselves be cracked from the heat of installation? is the another common weak point? Where do I look next? Welcome!!

Describe a "full engine rebuild" and why it had to be rebuilt. Was it leaking water before the rebuild? Have you let the tech/shop know that its leaking?

The powerhead can be pressure checked to pinpoint the source of the leak. That would be the next step for the machine shop/rebuilder. Water in a motor is never good for the steel parts (crank, rods, cylinder, wrist pin, rings etc).

In addition to the comments above ,tell us if you know for sure that the cylinder headcover was torqued to the proper value in the proper seqence and was free of any surface imperfections ( ie..blue checked for contact.)
