I have a 40hp, 1991 Johnson outboard. Last fall a couple of rats decided to build their home in the rear of my boat, before I discovered it they had done a number on a lot of the wiring, bilge, livewell pump and oil injector. They just didnt cut the oil pump wiring once but did it twice.
My problem is, does it make a difference which two wires I splice to the other end, I could find no markings on either wire, such as a white stripe.
I dont want to guess at it if it does make a difference.
I would rather disconnect the oil pump than to take a guess about the wiring.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dougie44

Re: Oil Injector

Hi dougie and welcome to iboats.

If your talking about the two wires that come from the VRO oil tank, it looks like a lamp cord, it don't make any difference. All this wire is for is to give you the reservoir low oil alarm which is a 1/2 sec. tone every 20 sec's or so.
