hey,<br /> i just had a 1970 115 ele shift given to me, the buttons to shift it are hard to push, can i clean them?

Hooty....your area hoot!!!<br /><br />What ya' might try E120B, is get a can of electronics cleaner and shoot down in the switch to try and wash out and clean the mechanics of the sw. Don't try and take the switch apart.<br /><br />Use the fast drying type of cleaner.

E120B,<br />Treat that switch like gold.They are rare.Not sure about your control...but some of them had a plastic template that moved with the throttle and warm up lever.If the throttle was advanced too far,this plastic piece would keep you from pushing the buttons down.Thus protecting your gearcase.<br />DHPMARINE
