Eevinrude 200 hp fault codes

My engine shut down and would not restart. I have gotten the following fault codes (level one code)(25) High wter temp sensor reading,level 3 codes )81,82,83,84,85,86)- open in #1 thru #6 ign coil. Are the 2 sets of fault codes related? Are the coils showing open because of being in the test mode, or that the engine is not running? If it actually got the high water temp reading why didn't the "water temp" light come on instead?

You didn't tell us the year, but I'll guess that it is a '99 or 2000. The codes 81... mean that there is no ignition output, so the computer will have to be repaired. dfitechnologies.com do a great job if it is not under warranty.<br /><br />An overheated condition can mess up a computer very quickly, and usually it is the ignition system that quits. DFI will install heavier duty components in the system, if they repair it.
